Lana Mesić
Lana Mesic (b. 1987, Yugoslavia) is an artist living and working in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. With a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Photography from AKV|St. Joost in Breda (2010 and 2012), she has long been drawn to the strange, invisible forces that shape our everyday lives. At the core of her practice lies a fascination with how we—both individually and collectively -fill in the gaps of what we cannot see.
A visual artist with a trans disciplinary approach, Mesic moves seamlessly between photography, sculpture, assemblage, video, books, and social interven=ons in the public realm. Her work navigates the transience and chaos of this world, skill fully blending urgent social issues with personal experience to reflect the oHen turbulent state of contemporary society. At times, her practice engages with the current zeitgeist; at others, it veers into anachronism, digging deep into social, psychological, and ethical dilemmas that transcend time.
